An irritated, weakened and disturbed digestion can have serious effects on our overall physical and mental health.

 

The 3 main purposes of a well functioning digestion:

• to supply the organism with nutrients and energy

• to detoxicate the body through the excretion of waste products

• to build up a resistant immune system via the gastro-intestinal tract

 

Digestion as the central source of energy for our body 

Modern lifestyle brings a lot of influences, that can imbalance our digestion.

First and most importantly, WHAT we eat influences our digestion, however,

HOW and WHEN we take our food can also have an effect. Moreover, there are

external factors such as stress, a sedentary lifestyle, and environmental pollutants

that can also affect our digestion.

Many problems are obviously related with a poor digestion process e.g. irregular

bowel movement, heartburn, etc., but there are many problems we don´t even

think of being related to our digestion.
